We will held the training course which is the development of coordinatoes for disaster nursing for Middle East and Asian Countries from 30 August to 3 October in 2009.
This is a consignment project by JICA Hyogo.

We will hold “The report meeting of the result of research, Disaster Nursing in a Ubiquitous Society“ in an auditorium of University of Hyogo, Collage of Nursing Art and Science on November 16 and 17th.

We invited Dr.William Holzemer, Professor and Associate Dean,International Programs,Lillian & Dudley Aldous Endowed Chair in Nursing Science, School of Nursing, University of California, San Francisco and held the COE seminar-
-“Community of Practice”at University of Hyogo,Research Institute of Nursing Care for People and Community on October 12, 2007.
That day 59 people came to hear the seminar.

On May 24, 2007, the Research Institute of Nursing Care for People and Community (RINCPC) was designated a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Nursing in Disasters and Health Emergency Management (WHO Disaster Nursing Collaborating Centre).
On Tuesday June 12, 2007, a designation ceremony and inaugural forum were held with approximately 150 attendees, including 50 guests, 75 faculty members and 35 graduate students.

We held “The report meeting a field survey was carried out in 3 nation 2 years after ,theSumatra-Andaman Earthquake and Indian Ocean Tsunami”

In February and March 2007,we carried out a 2 years after follow up survey in 3 nation, Srilanka,Thailand and Indnesia. WE held the meeting to tell the result of this survey for teachers and students.

The information intend for nursing to support a victim, could also help other Noto Peninsula volunteers, as well as the disaster victims themselves.

The teachers on our campus have been providing uninterrupted support to nursing professionals at the shelters since the date of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake on March 26th.

The shelters at the disaster area are reporting that people whose homes have been red-taggerd are not being allowed to return and there is still a great deal of concern regarding after shocks and during the night. A large percentage of the evacuees are elderly people.

We are trying to arrange for supplies of clothes, cold weather gear, and high-protain food, all of which have been reported to be in short supply (although there is enough water and rice).

We invited Adela Lai, the Diregtor of the Nursing Department at Princess Margaret Hospital in Hong Kong and held COE seminar “Avian Influenza Management and Nursing Care” at University of Hyogo,Research Institute of Nursing Care for People and Community on March 20th 2007.
On that day 69 people came to hear the seminar. The seminar was limited time, but it was very substantial content. Thank you .

We held “The Japan-Indonesia Disaster Nursing Exchange Forum mid- and long-term of disaster care and human resources training,Japanese-Indonesia collaboration in disasternursing” on February 8th 2007.


On that day, came to attend the forum from as far away as Kyusyu.

We attended the Hyogo Safety Day Gathering held at HAT Kobe.
This event “not to forget the day of 1.17”,January 17th 1995,the day of Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

To understand as many people as possible about our works and the result of research, we distributed various manual and set up a computer for visitors to try out “Disaster Preparedness Check” program at the event.

The event took place under cloudy skies. We are pleased that the large number of visitors came to our booth and comment to us.

RINCPC(Research Institute of Nursing Care for People and Community) was approved as a WHO collaborationg center at a judging committee of WHO Western Pacific Regional Office on Dec. 11.

Courtesy visit by the Prince of Japan. He observed the triage training on disaster nursing carried out by our faculty members and students. He attentively made questions while the training assuming a plane crash.
